I know the dudes at By Design. I do trust their work very much, but I see a couple of red flags:

1. I have seen a lot of spectacular used vehicles, but it takes a lot of gall to put 10/10 on an internet sale. Knowing how picky Porsche Turbo buyers are, 10/10 is a completely inappropriate way to describe this vehicle.

2. White on Savannah? Ick.

3. Being that By Design did the work and By Design is selling it, I would trust that the quality of work is good. I would also bet a lot of money that the price they are asking is an attempt to RAPE the potential buyer.

4. They say $75000 in mods...by whose estimate? Even paying Porsche authorized dealer prices, I don't see more than $25K - $35K in the car.

Sorry to be odd man out on this one, but I am not jumpin on the bandwagon.

$110K TOPS

Ryan, let me clarify your misconceptions on this car. The white X-50 car is a 10 out of 10. You say 25K-35K, guess again.
Factory GT2 front?
Factory GT2 wing?
Techart Type II rear bumper?
Techart side skirts?
Cargrapgic 19x8.5 & 19x12?
Yokohama AVS Sports 235/35/19 & 315/25/19?
GT2 factory brakes front & rear?
H&R coilovers?
GT3R adjustable sway bars?
GT2 clubsport roll bar?
Cargraphic exhaust?
Gemballa ECU?
Cargraphic pedals?
Short shifter?
Upgraded turbos?
I'm probably missing a few things. And don't forget about the factory options. X-50, nav, sport seats w/painted back, full leather, white gauges.
All I'm saying is, why dog a car you've never seen?

Just to chime in. I posted the original thread and I have a 2002 ZO6 corvette with T1 suspension that I take to willow springs or Cal. speedway or buttonwillow often. I often outperform 993 and 996tts but there's something magical about Porsches that I'd like to experience even for double the price of my ZO6.

tyson, chiming in on request...
Jim,
it's difficult to imagine a GT2 w/o owning one.. check some of our threads. it's a great fast car that i can drive at 9/10's safely, but you feel as tho' you have a gun pointed at your head... very tiring ultimately.

a GT3 will just be a milder 2wd equivalent, but harder to wreck w/o turbo lag.. I ordered a gt3 as it's the new fun toy, but i'm also considering another gt2 now that they are 140 or less w/ miles.. both these cars are light tossable canyon slammers that require more skill and respect to run hard, relative to a TT, of which i owned 3 996 and 1 993.

the safest way to go for the average porsche driver is a TT.

as for that modified x50, most of the sh__T is cosmetic and irrelevant to performance, so it's worth less to me than a used stock x50, altho' Jack is vouching for the owner so absolutely the work is of the highest quality.
