Since there is a few on the board.

Good luck guys, try to outsmart the fuzz as much as you can! Show those italian exotics what you are made of! Stay safe and just enjoy the experience.

I know those pics are like salt in an open cut. I wish I would have seen your post earlier.

Those cars look great. I wonder where they are right now.

Do you do track events with your 996?

JP,
Knowing the protocol, they left SF last night and drove through the night, stopping in Reno for a checkpoint, to arrive in Las Vegas this morning. Right now, many are catching up on much needed sleep. Everyone will start getting together and eventually have dinner and a party tonight. In the morning, to much fanfare, they will be off for a day's journey to Tuscon.
The first leg of the rally is at night. I don't know why that is. I presume it is because everyone is so revved up, they figure there will be less run-ins with the police and public. It is usually the fastest leg since not everyone knows it isn't a race. Last year, during the first night leg, one of the Diablo drivers got caught doing 170 and was thrown in jail for the night. He arrived at our first stop 12 hours after everyone else.
Regarding the 996 and the track. I just bought it about two-three months ago and have been doing a few things to it (See "My Cars" link in my sig below). Started with 19" wheels and tires, front skirt, side skirts and tail curently under construction, Europipe exhaust shipped yesterday and lowering kit will follow soon thereafter. Future plans are for K24 turbos and a GIAC ECU upgrade.
I was trying to plan a track day with a bunch of my friends with the Performance Drivers Association but I am still on the fence whether I want to do it with this car or not. I have done all of my previous track events with them for the last 15 years.
As I mentioned in a previous post to you, send me your contact info so we can stay in touch for next year's GB!!
