Post Rollbar for 996ttt?

Does anyone know of a rollbar that allows for full movement of the seats in a 996tt?

Thanks,

John

Dan, beautiful setup but I am looking to try to avoid changing seats...I am hoping to stay with the stock sports seats.

Thanks,

John

Search for several threads on this in last 2 weeks...here & Funcars.........bottom line is niether of Tequips or the DAS work well with either Sport or OE full leathers.
Those bars are designed for the GT3 seats.

This is where the sport seats hit the roll bar, you must be 5'6" or below to be comfortable driving and 5'3" or below to be comfortable in the passenger seat????? I have scrapes and indentures on the back of my seats from valet and passengers trying to take the seat back, I've even had one valet guy make me park my car becuase he couldn't get in??

Is there some reason I am missing as to why no one produces one that fits better?

Thanks,

John

I guess people are assuming that if your driving in conditions that require a Roll Bar that you probably 99% of the time require GT3 seats for those very same conditions?

Personally, I have no use for GT3 seats.
I'm on the track quite a bit, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with the support I get from 6 point Simpson & the Full Leather or the Sport seat. I'm pretty light for my height and my frame doesn't go anywhere in that seat when I'm 'cranked in', ie bigger wings & bolsters would do absolutely nothing.
Going to GT3s means loss of all use of behind-the-seat area, less overall elbow room, and a bit more work daily for in & out........my wife would just not get in the Turbo if it had GT3s (already thinks it's too noisy).....of course also there's no lumbar, heat, recline, full controle w/power, yada, yada.

You really should try them before making such a statement.

I went from basically the same setup that you currently have, stock seats with a six point harness and harness bar to a GT3 seat on the driver's side.

"Spirited" street driving is much better because the seat locks you in and the GT3 on the track is much better than stock seats, especially since the shoulder straps pass through the seat, I'm not sitting on the sub belt, and the harness doesn't have to be really, really tight as it had to be when I ran stock seats.

What's this "sitting on the sub-belt" stuff ??

I missing something?
I have 6 point and both pull-up subs come from the floor.
I have sat in GT3s ...but confess never driven in them.......all I can say, is with a stiff suspension, R1s, and pulling a few lateral Gs....I still feel at one with the car.

This season I'll hit up a GT3-seat-friend to let me go out for a few in his.

I ran the sub over the front of the seat briefly but moved it to the rear after a few PCA club facer types explained that it wasn't a good idea.
