Post 2001 bumperettes removal

Hi
I'm considering buying a 2001 turbo, but it has the little bumpers in front. Can they be easily removed w/o any telltale signs, or is involved to remove, and difficult to disguise?
thanks in advance,
dw

you need to refinish the entire front nose - no other way around it - sorry <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

Thanks Darren911, any idea if this is a logical choice for the cost?

It is a lot easier to just buy a whole new front bumper IMO!!

My local Porsche dealer told me that all you need to do is change out the black grill inserts to a later '01 or '02 model and you can use the same front valence. Am I incorrect?

Bob - he's talking about those nasty 'warts' that appeared on the first 300 - 500 Turbos that came stateside.

They are attached with tabs that fit into slots in the bumper cover itself, and a screw or two also. What a mess.

If you remove the warts, there are about 5 slits in the bumper for those tabs, and screw holes.

That's why it's a complete refinish on the bumper cover to do it, or better off to get a euro bumper cover instead.

I'm finally solving my 2001 stupid bumperettes! (Yipee!!) It is costing a little money....

I just got confirmation from Gert that my new GT2 tail and front bumper are on the way to me. They should be here next Monday or Tuesday and I plan to have them painted and installed by next weekend.
