Post Cool Reception.....

Hi All,

With the temperature at 18 above F. and a foot of snow still on the ground, my new 996 Turbo was greeted to a cool reception.

The snow will melt soon, the streets will dry, but our brilliant City Fathers here in Edmonton have yet to pick up all the sand and small gravel they’ve dumped on the paved roads all winter. ( Instead of salt – sand and small gravel.)

Will still want to wait 3 weeks. And then that long break in period. I can’t wait!

This is my first tail hanger.( since 356's long ago) So I hope you guys on this Forum will be patient some of the inevitable dumb questions I’ll have.

After break in I intend to do a few D.E./track days this summer and some Solo-type mid-speed AX-ing we do here on airport taxiways.

Bob:

Congrats on the new car -- great color choice. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

BTW, it'll take some doing to "hang" the tail out on your new beauty, given normal weather conditions.

That's a great looking rig Bob! I love the aero-kit. What other options did you get? <img border="0" alt="[bigbye]" title="" src="graemlins/xyxwave.gif" />

Thanks for the comments.

My previous display name was "gofast".
"TT X50" is the new one after PC updating. Its also my licence plate for this new arrival.

By tail hanger, I meant where the motor was located. The last few cars I had were mid-engined.
With these wide tires, it'll be pretty hairy to explore limits, except at a track. I suspect it'll be a rocket ship and want to get out there.

But I've never had anything with so much torque , so I think I'll take it easy on corners at first and grow into it as the season progresses.
Tough job but someone's gotta do it <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Its equipped with
- X 50 power kit
- Factory Aero Kit
- SS split exhausts
-Sport Seats & mats

Put the money on gofasts only so I could tell the wife how I was saving money not getting all those nifty interior options.

Damn - All this typing is making me want to go to the garage and pinch myself that its actually here, waitin to go!

Congratulations on the car! Looks great with the Aerokit.

Did your dealer discount it? And if so, what sort of a discount did you get? Some Canadian dealers are sticking to the MSRP, others are offering pretty big discounts.

Have fun!
