1. Adjusting the Dampeners is at best a 3 minute job front or rear. It's just the turn of a dial(9 settings).

2.You most-likely will set the ride height at installation, corner balance align and leave it there. Rarely would anyone raise or lower the vehicle, as it requires resetting the steering angle sensor, alignment and to do it right re-corner balance

The adjustments on the PSS9s are for dampeners (up and down motion) you would adjust and tune this for on/off track use or comfort level/ride quality. They are easily accessible

Cobra, I was told by my tech that the fronts are indeed very easy to access but the rears involved removing the bulkhead/trimpiece inside the cabin by the backseat. Depending on tools/experience this would certainly take longer than 3 minutes.

Maybe I was taught the wrong procedure for changing the PSS9 setting??

Trojan is right..
On the newer TTs, the whole Bose sub-box and carpet etc... all needs to come out so you can access the adjustment ****.

Trojan, msindi,

As Cobra stated, it only takes a few minutes to adjust the rears shocks - less than 10. I have done it in about 5 minutes several times in an '02 with the Boze subwoofer (an '01 would just take an instant). 30-45 minutes is simply not accurate information, IMHO. One could certainly stretch out the job to take that long if you wanted to, but you would have to work hard at it.

John - I would apprecate if you can give a wlakthrough of this as removeing the Bose takes about 10 minutes alone. Also this would make my life eaiser so that I can experiment with the different settings without having to go see Bob or the dealership each time I want to change them.
thanx,

Mansour,

It is very quick and easy to do. First, pull the plastic speaker covers off - they will come off instantly. There is one large star head screw behind the plastic cover on each side. Fully loosen these two screws and pull the Boze unit forward (there is no need to disconnect the wiring). It takes me less than 2 minutes to get to this point. Now pull up the carpet pieces covering the shocks and make the desired adjustment. Replace the carpet piece and Boze subwoofer. Total time about 5-7 minutes, working deliberately. About 5 minutes if you are determined to beat the clock.

The front can be done by the feel of the clicks (reaching around the back of the wheel).

Mansour,

Absolutely no need to remove the Boze from the car. When you pull the subwoofer forward, it rests on the front of the shelf and leaves adequate room to make the adjustments. It remains in the proper position to slide right back in place.
