I know, I know, this is a Porsche forum!! Please bear with me.

I really need an opinion. I ordered a Mini Cooper S in Pure Silver with a black roof and am starting to have second thoughts on the color after seeing a black one in a photo recently. I have a limited opportunity to change the color but my window is rapidly closing. I have posted two comparable photos of the cars in silver and in black.

Should I keep the silver order or change it to black?

This is the best color you could have. If the body is too dark then any vent, mold, or other decorations tipically black are lost.

Hey Ken I am going to be getting my Mini in about 4 days. I got mine in red so I am a little bias. But between the two colors I would choose the Black on Black. But then again you have the Black Turbo, so I guess we are both stuck. But IMHO if you are going to get the black the tinted windows are a must otherwise I don't think it would look the same. In that case I would get the silver.

I plan to tint the windows with either color so keep that in mind when you post an opinion.

Are you getting the moon roof on the Mini? If you are not, the checkered flag roof would look bad a$$ on the all black.

I toyed with the inherent stiffness advantages of not having a sunroof but finally broke down and included it. I figured it will be on the road more than the track so it should go in.

But I have see them cut the decal and fit it around the moon roof so there is something else to ponder now. P.S. now I have made up my mind. BLACK with the checkered flag around the moon roof, and yes that is my final answer. But it is your car so make your own answer on what your car is going to look-like.

The black with tinted windows is a little too Jackie Chan (i.e. Cannonball Run) for me. I'd go with silver if (or when) I get another one (my last Mini was red). Are you getting the "works" engine package? be interested to know the difference in performance.

Like how you guys say on the X50 I am going aftermarket on the works package. Supersprint or Borla exhaust, supercharger pulley, Mini-Madness intake, and Mini-motorsport ECU. Should be good for about 200-210 at the flywheel. <img border="0" alt="[grrrrrrr]" title="" src="graemlins/cussing.gif" /> Cheap *** 91 octane crapaforina gas.

Personally I would go with silver. All black seems to try and make the Cooper too menacing (good for a TT but a little beyond the character of the mini). I think it looks better in a color that shows the lines of the car like silver.

So that is 4 votes for silver and 1 for black. If I go black, that would give me three out of three black cars that I would currently own. Come on guys, give me more opinions!

I like the Red with the whit stripes, white roof and whit mirrors if you want the truth. The mini is a fun car and so needs a fun color. I think that black and silver cars make up for over 70% of the cars on the road.
