CJV
You never mentioned that you had ordered a Veyron. Congratulations!! I'm sure the comparison test with the TT will be great.

The rear of the Zonda is horrible, that exhaust arrangement is beyond ugly. Not that I can afford it, but still . . .

I was reading the newest Car & Driver, and they are also saying its in France. However the offical Bugatti website says its in Germany. Maybe there was some kind of change in the Border during one of the World Wars. Click on the link below, and you can read it. I didnt know how to link it to the exact page. But go to history, and jump ahead to 1909, thats were the German coment is. Maybe later I will e-mail Bugatti about this. In any case, Joe isnt completley off with his Italian phone call coment. The EB110, witch he owned, was produced in Italy. Im not sure were the company has currently set up shop. Oh well, maybe we can get to the BOttom of this.

And one more comment, Molsheim, is spelled like a german word, and pronounced like one too! The EI in Molsheim is used in alot of German words. It doesnt sound to French.

Ah ha, I figured it out Will. It was a border discrepancy. This link explains it.

Dude: If you are looking for "original" and something that you have to spend a lot of time to "explain to people what it is", I have the perfect solution.

A 1972 Pinto Wagon, tubbed out rear with monster slicks and wheelie bars and a 604 cid hemi with a quad rotor whipple charger up front pumping 1000hp on pump gas.

That'll get you all the attention you will ever want!

You Guys are all sick.
Ok not really but how nice it must be to consider which car to buy. Last Frankfurt Auto show 2001, Bugatti was stating they were all German. That's all I remember. cjv what kind of stable do you have? The only thing I have close to my dream is my saving's plan for my future Turbo thats 4 years away yet. Oh well another thing to shoot for.

CJV - I'm curious about the storage of older cars; you seem to have some experience in the matter.

In addition to the typical items you mentioned, do you think it'd be valuable to exercise the mechanical components of the car? Running/driving the vehicle would be ideal, but then you'd have to re drain it, etc...

What do you think of making a modified Dyno of sorts? Instead of the dyno being turned by the car's wheels however, you'd have an electric motor on the "dyno" that would turn the car's wheels, and in turn, exercise the engine when the car was put into gear.

Unless I'm missing something obvious, such a device would keep the rings and valves from seizing into place, would pump some fresh oil through the system and would even keep differentials, clutch bearings, and lots of other things in better shape than if they just sat static for years on end.

CJV
I laugh every time you mention the Sable. Out of curiosity why did you choose the Sable as a daily driver. Obviously you can afford a more fun daily driver and certainly a safer one. I would think you care about your safety. More power, better brakes, side airbags, responsiveness all help to either avoid or survive an accident. So for both fun and safety the Sable falls very short. Also, how can you actually enjoy driving a Sable? Heck, if you want to be very low key then the Honda Accord can offer a much safer and more enjoyable experience while maintaining an inexpensive image.
