Turbo vs GT3 weight loss, now who's a pig?
Ok, between the GT3 guys and the Corvette guys at the track I was tired of my cars weight being refered to as "the pig"!! All in fun of course.
So hoping someone out there likes math problems cause here is one for our beloved TT. I am going to compare my friend in his GT3 with a full tank of gas, no PCCB's, and oh yes! He weighs 220 pounds.
Now my and then some.......
'02 X-50
muffler....delete
LWFW
11 pound battery
spare and tools out
BBS light weight wheels
PCCB's
rear seats out
rear wiper off
factory seats replaced with GT3 seats
100 cell cats
for fun or math problem only delete the front wheel drive
my car with above and only a quarter tank of gas and oh yeah me at only 150 pounds.
All above vs my GT3 220pound buddy with a full tank of gas, I dont really think we are that much of a pig..........IMHO, just for fun!!!
what do ya think?

My 964 Euro Cup comes in at around 2650#.........
Tom, you're really trying to make the 996TT into something it wasn't designed to be....svelte.
Interestingly enough, the 997TT has an aluminum hood and doors, at least that's what I think the Pano article said.

Lewis, you are right as usual. Just having some fun. Trying to point out that a well set up TT with minimal gas and a really skinny guy isnt that much heavier than a really fat guy with a full tank of gas in a GT3! Yea, looks like more of a stretch the second time I look at it.
Bring your car and family down to Florida, free place to stay and vaction, more theme parks and beaches within an hours drive and our yeah, three race tracks close by!
Fun for the whole family!! Come on down!! PM me!!
And the thread was just for fun showing some of the easy weight reduction I have done.

Yeah, you got the eating disorder. the only way I can change my power/weight ratio on bike races in the mountains is to loose weight!!!!! As for the car, got to admit those GT3's are one bad *** car on the track. Only joy I get is running up there a$$ on the straight and then watching them slowly get away throught the turns!!! But I'll stick with the TT, I love the hp!!!!

If you've been corner balanced, your mechanic would have the 4 numbers already.
BTW, it's not quite fair to call a 996TT a pig.....I believe that highly technical term has been assigned to the Cayenne, which is about one ton heavier than a 996TT.

Just amazing how heavy those intercoolers are.
Tom, as a non-surgeon, might I suggest you simply remove your wallet from your rear pocket. That could be another hundred pounds. On the other hand, by the time you do the PCCB's, that will take care of all the extra cash.
Of course, we ID guys could just get rid of all the bull****, and we wouldn't have to do anything else to shed the weight. AS

Tom - I weighed my Turbo on four pad racing scales, and with a full tank of gas and no occupants it weighed 3480 lbs. The LWFW has reduced that number by a little bit.

AS I never thought all that money in my wallet was slowing me down!!! I should have known by all your superior attention to the "fine details" you were ID!! If my intercoolers get and infection now I know who to call!! LOL
