same car same weight the AWD handles better.
But do not forget that the AWD always weight more :-(

BTW Michael Schumacher always beat the time that the computer calculate for a track. So it is possible but I do not think that every average Porsche driver can drive like him.
let say that 99% of the Porsche drivers will be faster in a 996TT even if the Gt weights less and has more power.
Both cars stock of course.

cjv, looks like some complex carbon fibre work. I have a few questions. Is that the first set to get installed? Is there any clearence issues? How much larger in diameter is the new plumbing? With the stock turbos, how much drop in intake psi?

That should help the breathing!

Also can this intake be installed without pulling the motor? Is that what the splits are for?

@CJV
well I can tell you that if you race a AWD car in the same race serie in Geramny, you get 50 kg penalty weight comparing to RWD cars.
This is to reduce teh advande of teh better traction of an AWD car in the corners.
if it rains of course only the AWD cars win.
if it doesn't rains the AWD cars have a problem with the braking because of the higher weight but they do not have so many problems with the tires since they do not worn the rear one as fats as the RWD cars.
all in all same weight the AWD will be the winner.
i think for the street is much more andvandage since not many can drive a 500 HP RWD car to the limit.
Do not forget with the AWD you have less RWHP sinc ethe biger drive train robs you more HP but you have enough ;-) of them so no problem.
in a perfect grippy and dry road teh RWD is better. Rain slippy corners mountains and teh AWD is better.
You decide what is better for you;-)

Konstantin
PS the first RUF CTR was almost undrivable. The CTR2 can be driven by everybody
PS2 I expect that on a 2 miles race track an average drivere would be about 3 sec faster on a 996TT than with a GT2. BTW last time I was in the USA Watkins Glen a GT2 was crashed badly. I am not sure if the driver would have teh same problem if he drove a 996TT.

The S-Car-Go headers were installed on my car last Wed --- thank you CJV for financing the design and development. The headers definitely accelerate the spooling of the turbos -- I see boost earlier than with the stock headers. Matt at By Design has a set on his car and he concurs. For anyone so interested, I think Matt will have additional sets available this week (310/559-5960). They are selling like hot cakes (I think Matt has already sold 7+ sets), so get your orders in quick. Given the profound difference in performance before and after spooling, getting the turbos to spool earlier is, IMHO, a worthwhile investment.

I spoke with Rob on Friday and he is hoping to ship my intake on Tues or Weds, for a Weds or Thurs install -- thanks again CJV for financing the design and development. According to Rob, the stock intake is "the most restrictive part of the system" and his intake delivers significantly more air to the engine. Rob reports that the performance gains from the intake are greater than from the headers. Should be interesting. Once again, Matt at By Design is now selling the intakes, and Rob hopes to ship multiple sets to By Design during the first week of February.

I must say, the headers are great. The spool is definately a few hundred rpm's quicker. With almost everything on the car now, it is absolutely scary. I even scare myself sometimes in 50 degree or so weather. I'm so happy with it. I really love watching all of these TT's, including my own, really evolve into monsters.

Question

autothority claims 630rwhp without additional injectors. They add extra fuel pumps(? increased pressure). How does this sound? Comments please.

CJV,
Ah but we even have a fix for that now. Can't tell all here, but the new 700HP kit in design features lots of fuel up top and a program we know is working that will supply some hush hush injectors Keep an eye out for what is next.

CJV,
This one will have to be opened up for several goodies. I personally don't think without cracking it open the number we search for are going to be attainable. Don't get me wrong with 40lbs of boost anything is possible should you survive the explosion In all reality I think we know that a figure in the 6s is possible and beyond takes some internal goodies to get us there. One of the other things you can look for coming from our corner has to do with H2
