Default Impressions of Kevin's complete tuning package

Just thought I'd pass on my impressions after one week with Kevin's (Ultimate Motorwerks) complete tuning package. The car is an 02 tip and I told Kevin I wanted no lag and a lot more power. Since the car gets driven 2-3k miles a month I also had to have something reliable that wouldn't end up needing a rebuilt tranny or engine soon.

Here's what we did: Kevin's proprietary tuning, Kevin's K16/24 turbos, ported and ceramic coated stock headers, FVD intake plenum, Europipe Loud (thanks KPV!!!), ROW M030 suspension, 19" Champion RG5s, MA Shaw aero kit chin spoiler, painted side skirts, factory aero kit wing (waiting to be painted).

Everything but the tuning was installed at once. The night that I picked up the car I took a corner and smoke started billowing out of the back of my car. It was 10pm and I emailed Kevin in a panic. He knew immediately that the shop overfilled my oil and said it needed to be drained out before being driven. I had no idea how to do that. Kevin told me that I'd spent too much money to not be able to drive my car the next day. He drove 40 minutes to my house at 11PM on a Thursday night to drain the oil out of my car! I still can't believe he came that late to fix someone else's mistake!

I drove the car for two weeks until the tuning was ready to be installed. Even with the stock program the car was much more responsive. The turbos spooled up faster and the lag was non-existent. The Europipe completed the package with an exquisite sound.

One week ago Kevin came to my house to plug my new flash device in and give me my new program. Since then I've put 800 miles on the car and I'm very impressed. As promised, the turbos spool fast, boost holds 1.1bar with 1.2 bar peaks, and no CELs. I can't wait to get my hands on someone's AX22 and see how things compare.

How much power are you making? Any dyno runs, 1/4 mile times etc? I am also interested in the hybrid turbos

I think I'm making 550-560 hp. Unfortunately the car is a tip and can't be put on the dyno. I won't be doing 1/4 runs but will definitely do some runs with an AX-22 once someone in the Seattle area has one to use/rent.

Run the 1/4. It won't hurt the car at all. Won't even spin much just squat and go. Sould run about 11.8 or better or you are making closer to 500-520 hp. Sounds like a nice combo. Are your turbos stage 1 or 2 and are they zero clearance? Kevin is a very nice and knowledgable guy.

Sorry for the OT
But I am starting to think that Kevin used to be an overhaul truck driver and misses the mileage he used to do, he just loves to put miles on his car to help others.

I was once telling him that a shop in Seattle sent me a defective part for my datalogger, and next thing I know he had it shipped overseas to me the next day, after having taken his family with him in the car that same night to get it from a place that is 1 1/2 hour drive round trip.

Back on topic, use Red993TT's kind offer on the AX 22 and show us some data, who cares about dynos!
