Default 16/24 turbos with no ecu upgrade

Has anyone done a 16/24 turbos with no ecu upgrade but with boost spring that holds 1.2bar? if so what are the results. Also what if the car has stage 1 GIAC ecu with the same 16/24 turbos, will going to a stage 2 ECU make a big diffrence?

Thanks

Is it safe to assume that most stage 3 k24 software would be OK to run with these turbos. Does the mapping involve more air fuel situations or rpm. What I mean is if that software is designed to run k24 and that spools up around 4k are you missing out on some of the 2500-3000 boost from the hybrids because of different mapping. I have been told that the car and software will adapt and keep it from hurting itself but will you loose some of the down low hit going with generic k24 mapping. ie would you be better going with a 16/24 hybrid program or is stage 3 or 4 software going to give you most of the benefit of the newer turbos. I hope those in the know will chime in.

there is always a trade off... more power... more lag... Kevin makes great hybrids taht have no lag....
go streight to the gt640 and be done.. tahst the last stop b4 u go into expensive gt700...
or look into Protomotives awesome k24/18g conversion... very affortable and produces great results....
those would be my choices... and Im simply speaking from my experience of having 3 different stages.
everything below that... like stock k24s, or stage 2 hybrid turbos with a map is still not it.... why save $1000 when u can get real 650 hp b4 u max out ur fuel delivery. remember that once u purchase turbos ur stuck with them... so make a wise choice...

Speed Gallery sells an awesome k16/k14 hybrid, and they have several programs matched specifically to that turbo (depending on your fuel and other factors). I used SG's hybrid turbos for over a year and they worked great . . . super fast spool and strong power.

Answering the original question, changing turbos, but retaining the original program, would only achieve marginal improvement. You really need the program as well in order to realize the full benefit of the upgraded turbos.
