Default Fabspeed Motorsport 996TT X50 GT2 CUP airintake

Fabspeed is pleased to offer a fabspeed MAXFLO CUP airintake system for the 996TT, X50, and GT2 cars. This system fits all cars with any type of wing and compliments any other modifications.

Here is the WORLDS finest 996 Twin Turbo airintake system. This Fabspeed engineered system fits all 996TT cars INCLUDING the X50 and GT2 cars. Benefits:

1) Allows unobstructed airflow to the Twin Turbo engine for MAXIMUM POWER.

2) More airflow than any other system available anywhere in the world.

3) COLD AIR is force feed to the engine's airfilter by the stock FAN and snorkel. See the photo above as the FAN blows COLD AIR directly onto the airfilter and the intake snorkel dumps cold air to the filter.

4) Easy to install and saves weight. CNC air craft machined with T304SS drip edge.

5) Retains stock MASS AIRFLOW plastic sensor grate and location for maximum power and no Check Engine Light.

6) More sports car sound and you can hear the TURBOS and intake working so you have more EXOTIC hightech sound!

7) Reuse either stock Porsche OEM paper airfilter or K&N and or use a recommended BMC F1 airfilter

$575.00

$695 with BMC F1 airfilter

Have a great week.

I have herd that these air filters get dirty quickly and break down from the heat after 3,000 miles. I have always used a stock filter due to issues with all of the after market air boxes. Some work well in some cars and some do not work well in other cars. Who can make sence of it, unless you try them all in your car and measure the difference.

This is Joe @ Fabspeed Motorsports>> some background on our MAXFLO 996TT CUP intake system>>

The German tuners made some open CUP style airintakes for 996TT, X50 and GT2 cars. I read about gains of up to 25HP on high horsepower 996TT engines with an open system using the big stock flat panel airfilter stock arrangement.

Fabspeed MAXFLO open CUP style intake system also makes the 996TT sound even better and makes the stock mufflers and other aftermarket exhaust sound more agressive and you can hear the intake system better. All around the car works better and sound is enhanced all across the rev range.

I engineered this system and have road tested it and the car feels alot stronger and happier/energetic by the seat of the pants. Usually when you can feel power you have gained over +12 to +15HP. We will be trying to get on the DYNAPACK DYNO as soon as I can get a 996TT volunteer car as my donor car got traded on a Gallardo. Call me if you want to get involved. I dyno in Rockaway, NJ.

The MAXFLO CUP airintake system fits, looks cool, makes the car sound more exotic, and works great in terms of butt dyno. The system is obviously an improvement/enhancement over the stock OEM Porsche 996TT airbox as our MAXFLO intake systems uses the rear stock OEM section of the 996TT airintake (the MAss air sensor and all other stock 996TT parts are unchanged)>>>> so I cant see how it can't possibly not work. Fabspeed always tries tio engineer improvements based on what Porsche has engineered.

My research, street testing and shortly dyno testing should show it has to be a solid "doityourself" bolt-on enhancement for any 996TT.

The Twin Turbo engine is protected from rain with a T304 Stainless steel rain /drip edge. The COOL thing to is for RACERS, DE participants and when the weather is sunny.........you can in under 2 minutes remove the drip rain edge and have a 100% completely open airfilter systems for your 996TT, X50, and GT2 and then quickly re-install the rain edge as needed.

If someone wants to get involved in the dyno test just ask for me.

Thats the scoop!

So it basically is the factory setup with a "naked" air filter, ie just seems as if the air box has been taken away. any problems with hot engine compartment air getting in??

Hi Tom

The engine FAN on each and every 996TT blow COLD outside air onto the 996TT airbox cover and also the rightside/passenger side snorkel dumps air on to the filter. Therefore when you are driving the car the fan and snorkel are dumping cold air directly onto the massive 996TT factory engine filter or any K&N or BMC F1 that the cars owner has already installed.

Also at speed most of the 996TT rear wings force feed additional outside air intake the engine airbox area.

I will post a before & after Video soon.
Have a great weekend and happy holidays everyone!

thanks Joe, I am interested if this thing is any good. I like that it keeps the factory stuff to an extent and I'm still scared of changing the box completely. What about if the car is in a lot of stop and go traffic, still cool enough air??

Have you used an OBD2 scanner or PST2 to read the intake air temperature with and without the fan running?
