It has to be drawing in hot engine compartment air.

The factory air box system allows the intake to draw ("suck") air exclusively from outside the car - through the snorkel. The OEM air box can not draw any hot air from the engine compartment. Between the two systems, the OEM system will deliver cooler air to the engine.

HI
It is Joe @ Fabspeed Motorsports

WE dynoed our 996Twin Turbo CUP airbox @ Powertech in Rockaway New Jersey on their ultra accurate DynaPack dyno. The German Tuners that "cut up & destroy " the factory airbox stated that a modified airbox is worth +25HP.

Fabspeed's MAXFLO CUP airbox increased power by +21.7HP and more importantly a significant +20.5ftlb of torque was gained. The runs were consistent and Mike Daino and Keither Peare have over 25 years in Porsche tuning services and club racing.

The fabspeed maxflo systems allows re-use of the paper factory airfilter and or a BMC f1 or K&N airfilter. The Mass airflow sensor stays in the stock position with the MAFs integral plastic screen THAT you NOT be eliminated on any 993,996,997,GT3 or any late model car as it is vital to straightening airflow for accurate readings for the MAF and therefore the DME.

The power gains as can be seen on the DYNO are significant and from 3000RPM upwards to redline.
The sound from the chnageover from the stock intake to the Fabspeed CUP intake is rewarding to and ON stock 996TT cars with stock exhaust or a "mild exhaust systems" the exhaust sound is louder and more enhanced.

Once again for all the skeptics.........the FAN that is located on each & every 996TT made worldwide Blows DIRECTLY onto the airbox cover and the 996TT intake snorkel directs air to the airbox cover...........therefore the "HOT air will hurt power on an open 996TT/GT3 airbox" is not a valid arguement as proved from the dyno results and also from empiracle data on past Porsche cars.

Porsche Motorsports did the same function on the 1990-1994 964 Carrera CUP cars and they found +8HP. Fabspeed replicated 911SC and 911 3.2CUP and 993 CUP airboxes and these all made significant meaningful power to engines that had intakes systems located DEEP into the engine compartment.

The Fabspeed systems works and adds to the power and sportscars sound and WILL NOT set off any CEL lights nor anything else and is easy to install and compliments any other upgrades or high horsepower modifications one might have made.

Porsche designed the factory intake system as a closed systems for the simple reason- it keeps the 996TT super quiet.

Who argued it would?

Well the only option at this point I would assume would be the EVO box? In your opinion is that "better" than stock and reliable. I know this has been beaten to death but thought I'd ask you anyway!

I'd *highly* recommend the EVO unit from IA.

HI
Its Joe @ Fabspeed Motorsports.

I WILL HAVE TO POST SOME PICTURES OF MY OEM STOCK 997TWIN TURBO AIRBOX...........AS IT ARRIVES FROM PORSCHE AG my car is brand NEW and when you evaluate the stock 997TT airbox..........its is essentially a "MIRROR DUPLICATE" of the Fabspeed Motorsports CUP MAXFLO performance airbox that I engineered for all 996Twin Turbo cars. My CNC machinist and I laugh outloud after we looked over the 997TT factiory airbox and removed the "slip on cover".........it is as "if Porsche AG singned off" on our design after the fact.
I am 100% serious and I will back it up with pictures and a VIDEO.

The Fabspeed 996TT CUP MAXFLO airintake systems "IS THE OEM AIRINTAKE" on each and every 997TT car ........the 997TT has 2 MAFs as the only change.

So for all you skeptics and naysayers.........TRUST ME.........our systems works and adds over 20HP .........the best value ever in a NO CEL high perormance airintake for all 996TT cars.

Photos and Video confirmation will be out soon.

have a great day
