It looks like I am going to settle with an 03' X50

As far as adding extra HP/TQ... What is the best bang for the buck? Meaning are there are any mods that are a no brainer that all X50 owners should do. What will it yield? What are my options? Are there X50 specific mods?

Eric...as I said on 6speed...Exhaust, intake and chip will get you 70-100 hp and put a huge smile on your face. Since you will be starting with K24s that should be a nice first move.

Since you have the X50 dont play around, go straight to the Stage 4.
Mine seems bullet proof and the money Imagineauto charged me was next to nothing considering the gains had.
Stage 4 ;- headers, exhaust, DV's, ECU program(s), filter( although i went back to the stock filter just to be sure my MAF doesnt fail), and a hand held switcher.
I have the stock, pump and race programs although i dont run the race program much because here in the UK race fuel is like $26 a gallon.

Welcome and congrats on your new toy. I really like the one mod at a time idea instead of the "do it all at once plan". you can enjoy each better and get a new appreciation for the car with each mod. Also, you asked for "best bang for the buck" and certainly going to a stage 4 is not that.
You went from a NA 996 to a 450hp car, what is the hurry to mod. you have an easy 100hp more than you last car (I'm assuming). why not get a suspension upgrade instead?
What do you plan on doing with the car? If just to drive on streets certainly 450hp should be enough to take car of the "locals".
I vote suspension upgrade first. If you want cheap, just go with an upsolute chip and enjoy.

It will be a Mountain Carver/Track events a half a dozen times a year. PSS9's are in the budget as Must have mods. I am just researching my next steps for power. I like to Mod and do it in steps, If I do everything at once in one shot then I get bored.

If those are Pirelli's, they will go first. Nothing makes a bigger diference at the track than the rubber. AS

for road michelin pilot sport 2's, track mich "cup" tires. take the car to the track before any mods.

To many issues with Upsolute posted in the past with lights for me...

I would do IA Stage IV and nothing else..... You will be happy.... You can skip the headers if you want to same a few bucks... All you need is ECU remap, Exhaust, DV's and a BMC type air filter and you will be some where around 550-575 HP...

Oh and what Tom said... You will want to change your stock suspension....

Do your research and several options will make you happy!
I/A, Sharkwerks, PSI, and most will credit your ECU upgrade if you do
something with them later, down the road.
