New to 996 Turbos, Your thots on this car please
Having owned a dozen or so other 911 variants including a RUF modded 1989 turbo I find myself in a position where I am going to be commuting a small distance ( 15 miles or so) again. I am looking for not quite a daily driver but also a fun weekend car. The prices on 996 turbos appear to be getting pretty reasonable for the amount of performace you get… Any thoughts on this car and its price?

A brief synopsis of the changes in the 996 turbo over the years would be great too. Sorry if that request have been covered too many times already.
Thanks

If the car is as represented, that is a good price of $64,900. I paid $66,000 for one with a few more miles than that last year and felt that was a reasonable deal. When this car debuted in 2001, the press called it the perfect super car because of its docile behaviour at low throttle and its fantastic performance when into the boost. Not too many people are disapointed in these cars.

These used tt's have to be the best bang for your buck going right now. My 2002 was nearly twice the price of this car. You will not be disappointed and they respond very nicely to modifications!!!!!!!!!

The only significant options are the Sport Seats (which aren't mentioned!), CD changer and the fugly wood wheel. The highest interior wear area of the car, the driver's seat bottom, isn't clearly shown in any pictures. I would also warn you these digitized pictures DO NOT show chips and scratches which are obvious when seen in person. Finally, at 30k miles, the car may be due for significant service (plugs, brakes, fluid changes, tires, etc.)
REGARDLESS, as these cars approach 50% original MSRP after only 5 years with reasonably low miles, they have to be considered a bargain!

I have a steering wheel that may look great in your car. Click on the link below and take a look at picture # 15 depicting the interior of my car. This steering wheel is carbon fiber and leather with large grips at 10 and 2 o'clock. I think when I ordered the car the wheel was $800.
