Maybe he is Ron Jeremy......but the new Tubi,AWE, Remus, and the GHL ALL make power
He just does not know anything about exhausts. All above have dyno sheets!

I visited Sportec today. Will probably go for their 540 pkg, although the 580 looks interesting too...

for those who have k24s.... protomotive offers a Kick *** upgrade.. very affordable... custom tuned ecu with full controll over boost level via a greddy boost controller... its a 600 hp package ...
not trying to plug anyone... but I know this kicks *** and for the money its great.
Its a great set up for those who like to have controll over boost running on different octanes... pump gas = low boost.. and race gas= high boost... anywhere form 1 bar to 1.35 bars.
nothing to take away form any other tuner...
just my opinion,
markski

Pierre,

I was passenger in a Sportec 580hp GT2 yesterday. As the twisty swiss mountain roads were not the best place to test this 2wd setup I have no detailed impressions.
Just let me tell you that the 580hp is the way to go. Whole different car than a stock X50.

Tom,

no GT2 yet, still searching for the right one.
It is really not easy to find a no accident GT2 with plenty of power as there are not too many of them.

If there is a nice one for sale it usually will go within a day.
Most of the cars for sale are in a very below average condition compared to 996tt's.

I am in no real hurry besides all the track days are coming and the sun is coming out.

Have fun!

The 580 pkg sounds good, yep. What bothers me a bit is that below 3'000-3'500 rpm, there's actually less torque than stock. Above that, it's a whole different story of course! But in comparison, the 540 pkg has more torque than stock even at lower rpm. Besides, there's a CHF 20k difference in price... So I'll most probably go for the 540 and for bigger front brakes as well. Decision this week...

For your twisty roads you need a lot of torque at low rpm I guess.
Ask sportec if Kevin can zero clearance the turbos before they install them.

Pls. ask Kevin for the details.

It is a process to reduce the turbo lag to a minimum and increase the efficiency of the turbos.
That should allow Sportec to tune the car for increased boost at lower rpms.

The result is a happy Pierre on twisty mountain roads...
