Default ODB II Scanner group Buy

Anyone interested in a group buy on this there is a thread in the 996 forum.

Some good discounts if we get enough to participate.. There are also links in that thread to others that have given very good reviews of this product.

I'm interested in the PC version....Does it come with the latest software and the SpeedTracer like it does if you order straight from their website?

Yes, it does. The group buy will be directly from Autoengenuity, unless Vivid wants to beat their group buy pricing. we have four committed so far in the 996 thread.

okay, here's the deal. we only need 5 people to do this to get the 169 price. this is the whole package that you would normally get at the $249 retail pricing. the only diff is that this is the non CAN version for $169. according to the software manufacturer, our cars are not CAN so it does not matter. however, you won't be able to use this on late model Fords or other cars that are CAN enabled though. you do have the option to order the CAN enabled version for $199. it does not matter which version is ordered as long as we order five versions. after i call them back, we will have 48 hours to get all the orders in to get this pricing. i will set the whole thing up. you will need to call do this as internet ordering will not be an option. once all five or more orders or placed, the orders will be processed at the reduced rate and shipped. pretty easy actually. here's the web address again:

http://www.autoenginuity.com/index.html

please refer to the site for questions about the product.

here's our list again:

Big6dad

Nycebo

If are 100 percent and you want it, copy the list with your name into another post so I can get an accurate count. Once we get enough, I'll give it a couple more days for stragglers and then set the buy up. As I said before, you'll have 48 hours to phone and place the order.

Attention Turbo Owners: This package will read your stock wideband 02 sensor and display AF readings. This will only work on the 996 turbos and not the NA cars.

I bought the complete system last week. I bought the USB version and I'm having problem communicating with the ECU. I'm using the ISO9141-2 protocol, it tells me that my car(2004 996tt) is not obd 2 compliant and cant communicate with the car. I emailed them, waiting fora response.

Hmmm... that's weird. They specifically said it should have no problems with the TT.

Okay guys, made the call....

here are the prices again

$199 for the full CAN version
$169 for the non CAN version

the non can version WILL work with our cars being that the connector is OBD2 and not CAN. i had a long discussion with Jay at AE today about this. however, if you want the non CAN version now, you will have the option to upgrade your kit to CAN for $50 if you should ever need it for another vehicle.

the group buy will run weds and thurs. just call the sales department and tell them you're with the group buy from "rennlist"

here are their phone numbers if you for orders or if you have any additional questions about the product itself:

Orders/Shipping: 1-480-326-6010
Technical Support: 1-480-326-3257

Hello Gary.
I called today the technical office and spoke with Jay. Eventhough He walked me through the process, by some reason the car still can't communicate with the computer. Tomorrow I'm goint to test the software with another laptop. I doubt the problem is my computer because, it's a Toshiba Centrino Windows XP and I have multiple usb connections(Ipod, camera, video) working fine. I think the problem is the protocol. I'll let you know guys.

i'll bet you a dollar it is your pc. i've talked with a couple other 996 owners that are running this software with no problems. i wish all computers would switch to firewire. that's one thing i've found with usb is that it isn't consistent. i had an ipod that was very uncooperative on certain pc's. then i finally swithed to firewire and all was good in the world again.
