KPG, ebaker may be right but I toasted my 315/25/19 on an 11" rim (of coarse at a DE so may not apply to street driving), anyway Michelin said 315 was ok on an 11" but the wheel co. Champion said no 315 on an 11" needs at least 11.5. IMHO you should be ok if the set up is for bling and not performance. That's why I now run my 315 on the 12" GT2 wheel so hard driving would be no problem.
Michelin and Pirelli specifiy 10.5 - 11.5" rims for 315/30-18's. The 315's give much more protection from curb rash, and should protect rims from potholes better. I think my car performs and looks better all around with 235/315's vs 225/295 stock.

Kevin, the inside sidewall cracked after a DE. they were new and Michelin sent me a new pair. Kevin, all say that the 18's are the way to go for the track. The 19's look better but are for show not go! I had a 25 sidewall on my 315 and that may almost be to little side wall for DE events, these tires heat up tremendously at the track.

fwiw, personally I think the yok's in the 315/25 sizes are much better overall.

That's interesting Tom... When I told my friend I just put on PS2's he said they were a good tire but known for weaker sidewalls....

What would the aspect ratios be for a stock set of 01 TT rims and 315/18's. To maintain the correct overall height would I need 315/35 or 315/30 or even 315/25 18's. Tom thanks for the info, I am sticking with stock 18" turbo twists. Kevin

Gary, if there is a weakness, I seem to find it!! Still these "street tires" at the track are so good I still havent bought new track tires yet!!!

Kevin, the 18" GT2 wheels I have from the factory have 315/30/ in the rear (remember these wheels are 12" in the rear) I think on the stock 11" rear you may be "safer" or better off with the factory recommended 295 width. I wanted more width in back thats why I went with my current set up. There are aftermarket co that have wider wheels. Also some of the guys on this forum are getting rid of there GT wheels.

good luck

tom
