Default Question on Diag Error Codes....

I was driving through some back twisties and got to a straight. I blew past two slower cars and my CEL came on when I was on it hard... No other lights and the car still ran normal... I got it read today and it had, if I can remember the code correctly PO0300.. Cylinder misfire. It has two one each on cylinder 1 and 5 at the same exact time. It occurred at 4900 rpm and 115 MPH...

I am running IA Satge 4 with Evo airbox... Have over 20K on the stage 4 and never had a ECL before...

Any input would be appreciated...

Gary,
sounds like you need plug change to FR-6's? I had mine done ($525 @ Reeves) just because of posts like this. I hope that is all it or or something even simpler if thats possible?

good luck

tom

I got the P030x code when my MAF was bad. Your description sounds like plugs though.

Could be, but with the miles on the car with the level 4 and the orginal plugs they should be changed anyway. I would also bet that the issues will go away when the plugs are changed.

Stephen,
Do you recomed "factory" plugs or is there anything "better" out there you have on your own car.

Gary,
That is what you get for racing Acura's

The posts I have seen said that when its the MAF the ABS/PCM and CEL lights were on... Mine only CEL... Does a cylinder misfire code point to MAF too? I would think it would be a different code.. I have had it reset and been on it pretty good and it has not returned yet...

Plugs tomorrow.

Luis,

Buy a new car and I won't have to race Acura's any longer... By the way that "Fart" pipe does not go with your pink neon....

Nope, factory is what I use.

No, misfires are not normally caused by the maf. If they are the the code for the maf would come up by then.

When my MAF went bad the car had a lean miss under full power over 3000 - 4000 RPM. At lower loads the ECU could compensate and it ran perfectly.

Pink Neon? You have mixed up with another one of your friends and its a Pt cruiser.
Just because I am not afraid to remove my cats does not mean I have a "fart" pipe back there.
