Default Newbie Price Questions

I am looking at a 2001 TT that is silver with gray interior, one owner with 10,000 miles. The car is equipped with the full carbon fiber package, digital sound, supple leather, heated seats, cd changer, carbon/aluminum shifter and brake handle, white face guages and park assist. The car also comes with new tires. The warranty has expired. What is a car like this worth?

The other car I am looking at is a 2003 that is a two owner car with the X-50 package, PCCB brakes, sport seats, navigation, headrest crests, and painted center console. This car has 8,000 miles on it and has two years of warranty left. Also looking for price guidance on this one as well. The car is seal grey with black interior.

There are no performance modifications on either car

Thanks in advance for the help!!

I just bought a '01 with full CF pkg plus all the options you name (except park assist, but I have nav) with 22.5k miles for $69,300.00 (independent dealer).

The '03 with X-50 will set you back about $93k (that is what one sold for here in town recently.

In my opinion, $20+k gets you alot of mods, warranty (you can buy it), etc. The '01 is also more depreciated, which gave me better piece of mind.

Default Buy the '03

If you can afford it...if with a dealer get it certified...you will not regret it if both are in equal condition

Shark,
You got a great deal on your 01. Auction pricing for a vehicle in excellent cond with 22,500 miles is $69K and would not normally include not include full CF and Nav.

Am I making the right assumption to think that a car with 10,000 miles should sell at a premium to one with 22,000 miles? Also, how much does an extended warranty cost through Porsche?

I would take the 2003 x50. Always buy the latest model you can afford.

If you can pickup the '01 for $75k or less, you just stole it! I would buy the 01 Vs the X50 as the extra 10-15k in price is not worth the X50 package (IMHO).

Shark... Great freakin' buy man! smokin buy!

It should not command too much of a premium. To check this, go to kbb.com and put those parameters in like you were going to sell the car. I don't think the difference would be greater than $2k.

On the warranty issue, I was quoted $2,500 (forget the duration) by a local Porsche dealer. Since that salesguy left, I decided to use a different dealer so I will have to ask (my CPO warranty expires next month).

If you plan to mod it at all, wait to find one that's already been modded. You'll save a bundle.

Exactly what I did, picked one up 3 months ago for $74k (27k miles). It has brand new brakes, new rear tires, spark plugs, oil change. It has about $17k in mods (EVO Stage2, Gemballa wheels, GT2 wing, CF mirror & splitter, TechArt coil-over, red silicone hose, silver crest).

I tried to buy basalt blk/blk with full carbon for 72,000. New tires, 11,800 miles.
Went out just under 75K.

Yeah if you want mods find someone else who has already done them. You will save a bundle! That is why I will keep this car forever!
