Is buying a new 996ttS a bad idea right now?

Anybody know projected base price of the 997 tt? If the motivation is to not lose too much money, the real question is the purchase price of the new car. If the new tt is substantially more expensive, it's smarter to buy at 996tt now.
A lot of this has to do with the Euro exchange rate (now down from its peak) When it was over $1.30, I was prediciting a mid $130,000 BASE price. Now, the Euro is down, so I suspect the projected base price of the car has fallen as well.
The appeal of the new ZO6, waiting lists for 430 Ferrari's, and the cost of a barrel of oil are all confounding factors. Life is short. If you want a tt, why wait? Your house will probably appreciate enough in the interim to keep your financial statement neutral. AS

My heart did the thinking for me. Bought a Signal Green with black 996 TT yesterday. All smiles, no regrets. It's unique enough that I will appreciate it even after the 997TT is out. If not, so be it, but I am a happy camper as I sit here today.

That's pretty funny. It's not for everyone, but I'm fine with the color, in fact I really dig it. Don't worry- no vanity plates with frog stuff anytime soon. I was looking at an Arctic Silver, Black and Guards Red S's that were out there- they look nice on their own, but the problem is absolutely everyone has those colors. If you see a guy in a green TT in San Diego I bet he'll be smiling!

Glenn,
Congrats on your car purchase. That is a unique and awesome color. You will enjoy driving it daily more than thinking about whether you should buy one! Can't take it with you and the list at Pioneer is like 60+ people, so why wait!
If I see you on the road it will be easy to know it is you!

Kind of reminds me of Viper Green of 911RS back in the early 70's. I think it is unique, especially for a car as overproduced as the 996TT.
Congratulations and best of luck.
