Default WTB 01/02 TT

Maybe it isn't the best time of year to start looking for one but so be it. Looking for a lowish mileage (approx 15K) TT. Any suggestions of where to find one would be helpful. The usual places are saturated with dealers with asking prices in the high to mid 80s. Thinking more in the mid 70's. Am I being realistic? Any advice would be appreciated.

TIA

mid 70s for non-certified is not unreasonable.. especially from non-Porsche dealer.

There are a heap of good TT's out there from 75-80. I see them all the time on autotrader as well as ebay. www.993tt.com has a great link to all of the local papers in most of the states. You'll find the links under the "buying a twin turbo" tab on the left of the screen. It took me about 6 months to find the perfect car so hang in there! I found mine thru the service manager at my local dealer. The seller was looking to trade in for a 997 and was going to get douched on the price. 12k miles in perfect shape, heavily optioned. I picked it up for $74k. Good luck.

There is a guy (private party) in SoCal with 28K with mods asking $69K. A little higher miles than u want, but it has warranty and it seems to be in good shape. It is on 6speed's classified.

Well I just bought an 01 with 16K miles for $74,000, and was from a dealer. I had the whole PPi accomplished. Instead of doing a CPO I purchased a 5 yr/85K mile extended warranty for around $2700. This car will be a daily driver and I want no surprises. So the deals are out there, just look around.

The deals are definitely out there. I just bought an 01 996 TT totally stock but heavily optioned car for 70K even. It had 28k miles but looks like 2800 miles. The car came with a 4 year up to 100K warranty that I didn't even know about until we were in the middle of closing the deal. I am guessing that most people won't have this luck (I never get lucky like this) but I was satisfied with the deal without the warranty. The car is Speed Yellow with a ton of options like full carbon fiber, colored seatbelts and so on. I tracked down the original sticker through a Porsche dealer in Dallas and it was 129K. I was stunned. The only option I can see that it does not have is Navigation......which I was indiferent towards anyway. Point of the story is that 70-75K buys you want you really want. Also keep in mind that the lower the miles, the more the car sat around not being driven. One could make the case that this would be worse than one that has been driven up to 45K miles. Just my thoughts.

Just got an 02 TT 20k miles in the high 70s. I do have to get it transported to California though so that and tax etc will add to the cost. Found the car here actually from a forum member and so far has been excellent to deal with by answering all my questions and accomodating to my needs. I'll be sure to post pics of when I finally get her! Just be patient and good luck!

Justin,

I gather that your 01 is still for sale? Being on East coast isn't really an issue. Details?
