What exactly is an " undercar shifter" compared to the SSK?

Where is the best place to to get a good deal and purchase a factory SSK?...

Thanks

Love the B&M short shifter. I actually wish it was as notchy as when it was first installed.

I've tried the one on my friend's tubo S, feels very notchy... didnt' really like it. I preferr the one comes with the GT3. Does anyone know what are the difference between the one on the GT3 and the factory SSK on the turbo? TIA

The GT2/GT3 are ~15% shorter on the tranny end from the factory. The factory SSK in the turbo is ~30% (same as B&M) shorter from the shift lever. I would think you could use the different GT2/GT3 shift pieces on the TT and get the same reduction.

I think you have to disassemble the trans to install the shorter shift arms from a GT2.

I installed it myself. It's an easy job. Maybe 1 hour. Barrier will only install the Porsche version for about $1k from what I hear.

wow!

I really love the OEM one. I guess i wanted to get it initially anyhow, but i waited to see how the reg version is. No thanks on that long buttery shift. Now, its just like a bolt-action rifle (like my 350Z has) ...a little notchy, but absolutely no question which gear is selected...

I have both the B&M short shifter with a Techart short shift kit mounted at the transmission. Some would describe the feel as "notchy", but I am used to it and describe it as having a "positive" feel. It is a good combination that I like very much.
