Upsolute + Europipe = problems,anyone ????
Hi,
Just came back from Upsolute with my car (K&N plus Europipe level 2 loud in a 2000 996TT)
I have constant PSM and ABS errors as soon as I hold maximum boost for over 2 seconds !
I first had the 1.1 bar program and then the 1 bar program
With the 1 bar program the errors are coming later but they do constantly
I use 98 octane
Upsolute says that the cause can be the backpressure reduction due to the exhaust
Has anyone the same setup as I do ?
Solutions ?

Are you speaking with Rene? You will need to have them lower the threshold data points.. You will also have to do so data logging... What levels of boost are you showing... Do you have stock turbo's..?
EDIT: A failed MAF sensor will through the ABS/PCM lights like you have mentioned.. Infact it is very common to have a failed MAF.. So, the first thing I'd check is to see if it has failed...

I have the Upsolute as well on my car and had the same problem as you.....ABS/PSM lights would go on under heavy loads....usually in 5th or 6th gear. Took the car into the dealer and they found out that it was because of a failed MAF. Its only been a couple of days bu havnt seen the lights go on since.

MacFever, the ECU is reading higher boost values in your car due to a faulty MAF sensor.. The readings are out of it's "parameter" thus throws the lights.. Our cars were only designed for .8bar, so the reading that a less than perfect MAF wouldn't show or trip the codes.. If you were to install your stock boost parameters your lights would most likely not trip.. Increase the boost and the ECU seen incorrect values reported by the MAF..

The ECU is reducing power output due to a fault condition... This can be overboost, this can be values that are above the ECU's mapping threshold, like the MAF. Since power is reduced you are in "limp mode"
Edit.. You should swing by a dealership to test the MAF and any error codes..

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM A FEW YEARS BACK WITH AN UPGRADE.I REPLACED THE MAF AND THE LIGHTS CAME ON ON SOONER.IF YOU LOOK IN THE DME THERE MAY BE A FAULT FOR MAF SENSOR ABOVE LIMIT VALUE.THE CAR I WORKED ON DID NOT SET A CEL BUT THE FAULT WAS THERE.

You shouldnt be in limp mode... The airflow is overwhelming the MAF. either you need the latest version of their programming or as said above, have your dealership check your MAF. I had that problem as well and the dealer gave me a new MAF sensor....no issues since (this was about 10K miles ago).
