Question 2001 Hollow spoke TT wheels

I know I have read here how to tell the difference between hollow and solid spoke 2001 TT wheels but I cannot find the information via search or FAQ's. Anyone care to enlighten me?

Thanks.

the hollowspokes should have a large indentation

I think its the other way around!! the hollow spokes are flat in the back whereas the solid spokes have two 'canals' engraved...

Question

Do we have a third opinion?

msindi-
I see your car as a trade in 'somewhere' but your plates are still on it. I am confused about that too. Tell me if it is none of my business and I'll shut up.

Jesse; the hollow spoke wheels are smooth on the inside of each spoke. The non-hollow have a ridge or indentation on each side of the spoke. If you look at the back of the wheel you can see why. The hollow spokes are made in a way that leaves the interior of every spoke hollow (and lighter). The other wheel style is solid and the casting process leaves the indentations on each side of the spoke.

I hope this helps sir!

Just look at the valve stem.

Metal: Hollow
Rubber: Solid

Hmmm...I too have an 01 TT that has an inservice date of Aug. 2001. I checked the back of my wheels and found a set of small ridges on the inside of the spokes but the valve stem is metal. I was under the impression that the wheels were probably solid spokes but now I have to wonder as I had a chance to check out an 04 TT cab and the wheels from the 04 are exactly the same as my 01 wheels. The 04 has a pair of ridges inside the spokes with a metal valve stem. Now I'm not sure what I have. Is it possible Porsche would install solid spoke wheels on a new TT cab?
Just wondering...
