I've looked at these too. the smoke would look good on my red since all trim and top is black...
don't worry about the flasher or sequencer - the side lights do not blink like a turn signal. strictly a running light. I guess these lights might run through the sequence when you power up the headlights, but I've also heard that the lights do not blink at all, or worse, don't work.
maybe find someone who bought these.
BTW the turn signal is under the headlight.
I eventually left my orange/amber on. or I'll get a smoke lens with orange light bulb
I have the rennline smoked LED side markers. They have a single lit stripe that lights up "dynamically" starting at one end of the marker when they turn on. My car lived in Canada for a bit, so the tail lights, side markers, and DRLs are always on if the car is running.
I am looking at having someone develop a add on board to make the side markers work as running lights and turn signals. I seem to recall a thread where someone posted a schematic of the wiring.

I bought smoked side lights from Morimoto. $70 but they feel and look very sleek and quality. Deleting the amber and adding smoky black cleaned up my TT! The dark side light aims my eye right to the dark rear side air intake, and ties in all the black details contrasting the red.
OMG the LED looks 1 million times better than that single old incandescent lightbulb. I’m all about keeping my car OEM and analog, but the difference in the lighting makes the car look more valuable and sleek.
