996 Turbo cylinder walls
Hello everyone, I just got the cylinder walls of my 2004 Turbo X50 checked.
You can see some dark lines, the shop says it‘s nothing to be concerned about and is normal wear and tear for mileage and age (154.000 km / 96.000 mls). However I‘m curious how you guys think about that.
You can still see the cross cut which means these dark lines are only very very light.
The car stood around for 3 years at the previous owner, maybe it has something to do with that?
They also cut open the oil filter which looked like new inside, so now metal particles inside.
I know that this isn‘t anything major, because if it was they would obviously try to sell me a rebuild but I just wanted to know whether this amount of wear is normal or too much.
Thank you in advance!

Looks like it needs a hard run to clean up those pistons...

Unless there are gouges/scoring you're good to go.
