embarking on a road trip down the Oregon coast in the 996T, just wondering what gas is recommended
here in BC im using chevron 94 or Vpower 93
think last time i was down in the minivan the highest octane i was seeing was 91,

most stations in OR will have 92. If you find ethanol free, you can run that too. It is listed as 92 but the refineries typically pull it before the 10% ethanol dilution, so it will usually test out at 93-94 like you are used to, but for a premium price of course. I tend to run this exclusively in my air cooled car and the other garage queen that sees low use, in addition to the generators and yard equipment.

Gas is gas is gas in most parts of the US, and it comes from the same couple refineries that serve any given area. Just try to avoid buying it in super small towns where it might have been in their tanks for months.

is your car tuned for higher octane? i.e. Cobb? if it is, there is a 91 octane tune for those states that don't offer anything higher... that would be the only concern...
if stock tune, you will be fine with any type of premium gas/petrol that is at least 91 octane...

Also, if you were to find yourself in a situation where you have to put, say, 89 octane in your car it's not the end of the world your car won't immediately implode. Just drive the car like a regular car and stay out of the boost until you can fill up with the proper grade of fuel.
