Hi, i have a 2004 Porsche 996 Turbo Cabriolet, Bose speakers and navigation system that uses cd. At some point in it's life the previous owner had installed an aftermarket Parrot CK Evolution bluetooth so that he could use the cell phone in the car. It's installed just to the passenger side of the transmission shifter. Unfortunately one of the buttons broke off and it looks like that model is no longer available...plus it wasn't all that great of a unit and the passenger always seemed to bump it with their knee.

Is there another way to get bluetooth for cell phone use in the car without breaking the bank.

I checked online with Crutchfield but it looks like they no longer carry units for that car/model/year. Easier rather than harder to install would be greatly appreciated. Just need to answer and make calls.

Hoping i can tap into the wires at the base of the installed unit so i don't have to figure out how to take apart the dash or whatever you must do to replace one of these things. thank you.

It works okay for phone calls, pretty good for music and great for podcasts. Because the 12 volt socket in the dash is always switched, I chose this one because you can leave plugged in and turn it off.

I tried to reach the phone plug under the console for a switched line so I could have more options, but the cable is to far recessed and would require tear up the console to reach.

unfortunately so far i couldn't find any instructions or videos that show what is involved with installing the rennkit product

may give the plug in type a trial but was hoping for something like the rennkit.
