Default door sills fell off

the adhesive on the back of my door sills dried out and disintegrated so when i opened my door, the door sill just fell on the ground... anyone recommend any type of double sided tape to attach back to the body??? i've used some 3M in the past but i find they usually lose holding power with heat...

Yes, 3m molding tape is fine, but I used VHB on mine. They're never coming off.

Wasn't even aware this was an issue. Thanks for the heads up.

I recently went through this and used the 3 M double sided tape and worked out well. The challenge was getting the old tape off. I used goof off with plastic scrapers and started to have some color pigmentation in the derbris. Not good! Fortunately I had 95% off and called that good enough. The OEM strip delaminates and fails. Even though the delamination occurs the remnants are super tacky and it takes some elbow grease to remove from the metal sill and body. I have previously read concerns about the thickness of the 3 M tape but it was not an issue in my case as it was about 1.5 mm and when compressed in place it looked perfect. I have an 01 by the way and out of curiousity I pulled on it to see if any thing was up and there was no resistance to coming off. The passenger side was the same and hence the discovery.

Thats surprisng, but agree with others the 3M tape works pretty good.
I recently picked up a set of stainless turbo sills and I wish my factory ones would fall off as they will not come off.

Getting the 3M to work is all about getting it very clean.

Default Recommendations on 3M 2-sided tape to attach door sill plates?

I suspect I might be getting into too much detail here, but does anyone have any specific recommendations (or p/ns) to use (width, thickness)? Also, I'm assuming at least 2 strips, 1 at the 1/4 and the other at the 3/4 width positions on the sill plate?
