I run Hawk's HPS + on Turbo, Akebono's on Targa. Both great at minimal dust, Great bite cold. No issues. Zimmerman coated Rotors on both

I have B8's and H&R Sport springs in Targa along w Sway bars.

Going to do the same to the Turbo soon.

Good street combo I think

Agreed.

My brake system is completely stock, and it doesn't limit me in any way on the street.

The Hawk HPS 5.0's are a great option for the street and it is what we use on our street cars (just a few 986's and my old 996 Aero .

The HPS 5.0 offers more bite then factory pads with moderate brake dust.

If you are looking for a low dust brake pad then the Carbotech 1521 compound is the way to go. Note that any brake pad that is advertised as "low dust" or ceramic is typically going to offer slightly less braking power then the OEM pads.

stock brakes work well on street, agreed. However if you are driving in a hilly area and are driving aggressive you can get feel the limit is too low. Just wanted to throw that out there. depending on your area and how fast you are driving, the stock brakes can seem too limited. I currently have the stock on mine now.

That's why a nice pad with good thermal dispersion properties is a simple and cost effective brake upgrade for anyone.

I've never had an issue with not having enough braking power, even on aggressive curvy mountain drives.

In spirited, longer drives (+4 hours at a time), I find standard brakes can feel a soft, especially through the mountains and 6 -7000' of elevation change, especially in trucks.

Not at all noticeable on ceramics.

What 996 Turbo of yours are you talking about here?

Just referring to standard brakes in general - the only ones I have driven of late with standard brakes are @sdematt turbo and Carrera - and do not get me wrong, they both stop well, but I like a little more bite. PCCBs, or ceramics in general, have spoiled me.

I thought we were talking about the 996 Turbo OEM brake system.

Drove with stock pads and rotors at Laguna Seca years ago. On a different car I switched from OEM front pads to Carbotech & 2 piece slotted rotors for turn 2 despite lower entry speed.
Can’t fathom why Porsche pads won’t be adequate on the street.

I'm running Brenbo BBK, Probably overkill for the street but it's nice, All the stopping power you will ever need
