Nightmare after buying from pcarmarket

For a while now bat standards have gone down
I think bat standards have gone down. I personally I’m aware of two blown engines while the new owners were attempting to drive their new cars home. It’s the seller or owner of the vehicle that should have been a straight shooter on a car. With the workload of most good porsche shops as it is, it’s impossible to do a proper ppi on a seven day auction. Also as off lately both pcar and bat many cars that don’t met reserve. I think someone already said it here, avoid cars with many owners. I have met quite a few guys that have high dollar porsches and they just stump on the accelerator when leaving cars and coffee after the car has cool down, this behavior only leads to all kind of problems latter. One particular guy, drives the hell out of Gt3s for 18 months and then flips them. He’s on a constant allocation list at Porsche Houston North. Yes speed yellow seems to be the most wanted color, I personally buy the car and condition, regardless of color as long as it is not red.

I’ll try to find out.
There is a real
famous one the infamous red targa. The car was towed right away to Jake Raby flat six innovations. If you watch some of the You tube videos you’ll see. The buyer was completely misled by the seller. The car is alive and well with a 4.0 today. The two i was talking about the buyers were from here Houston and a guy from Austin. Anyway you’ll see the comments here on rennlist of people that have been following this longer than me where they exactly talk about this. Rebuilt tittles, replacement tittles etc. Apparently it wasn’t like that 4 years ago. If it was my business I would do the ppi charge the seller a higher listing fee no $99 and stand behind the cars they sell, not on a $20k car off course. You also see a bunch of cars that did not met reserve on one site go to the other site. I used to sell cars at mechum and Mannheim, reconditioned eurospec 80s bimmers and mercedes. That’s completely different because the people see
touch the cars, yes there are telephone bidders but most cars are bought on site. I have been out of that side business since 2015.

I also have experience working through Manheim. Bought a couple cars off bat with good experience. This purchase however felt genuinely malice with the seller full aware he was unloading a headache onto me for a relatively generous price I paid. Now add 20k ontop of that. 20k in the hole is a pretty huge loss for me. Guess the color combo blindsided me, I was hoping to pick up a speed yellow 996tt around my means.

Sad to see this. Even sadder to see a Rennlist member not step-up and own it.
I seriously considered adding this particular car to my fleet when it was for sale on here for $62,999 with both sets of wheels.
My BaT experience on my Biarritz White 996T wasn't perfect, but very good. He didn't disclose a shot battery, so pretty small thing, but after delivery and me calling it out he acknowledged it was dead and had to be jumped for the shipper. But yet did nothing and became a ghost immediately. Also didn't own it.

That's because you owned it at that point! While one man's "shot battery" is another's "I'll charge it and keep using it as long as possible," aren't these auction site sales "as is" sales, with no warranties of any sort? Unless they are blatantly trying to misrepresent what's there, how are they expected to "own" a problem after the sale? It seems it is the buyer's risk when buying without an inspection that matches one's level of expectations.

Sad that you are condoning a seller not disclosing issues that were present when they owned it and that a buyer should have to purchase a PPI. What a world it's came to. I have a conscious, was raised to treat others as I'd like to be treated, and to be honest. A seller should disclose the issues I and the OP of this thread has experienced.

IMHO it is shocking that you bought a ~20 year old 996 Turbo (at auction, no PPI, sight unseen) that luckily you seem to be happy with, but can't get over a $150 battery???

Yea, I don't understand why people think buying from any site like BAT is buying from a reputable source??? It's just a middle man, taking a % to broadcast to a larger audience, they're not warrantying the cars by any means. You have to do your own due diligence.
