Default Frunk Crest

Couldn’t find a thread on this so here goes….
week or so ago I lost the Porsche crest off the frunk, not sure where/how.
It left only the studs from the old one on the outside and the “nuts” on the inside.. (see pictures). I ordered the new crest and mounting “nuts” by cannot figure out how to remove the old studs without potential damage or specialty tool.
The holes are too small for any type of pliers, etc, I call them “nuts” but they are not threaded or have a shape that a tiny socket would grab… I’m stumped.
anyone have experience/ideas/advice??

Thanks

What’s Left behind

Interior “nuts”

New kit

Those are called speed nuts. You put a thinwall socket up there and remove them, then the emblem from the top side will come right off. Looks like someone may have pulled that off. Hard to just fall off/break.

As s65e90 wrote, use socket and hold what is left of the studs on the topside by pressing down hard with your thumb.

Thanks so much you made my day. Until I found the right socket (8mm) it wasn’t obvious it was designed for that/would work. Needed more than my thumb
(needle nose pliers) carefully
anyhow I’m all set, really appreciate your help!!
off to go foiling…

Same thing happened to my car when I removed the emblem to detail it. Except pushing down on the stud didn't work so I had to very carefully Dremel a slot into it so I could hold it still with a screwdriver.

Same thing happened to me, except only one side. I masked all around the remaining stud and epoxied a bolt head to it. After it cured, I was able to remove.

You guys are more sophisticated/creative (patient?) than I am but still happy to have it back in place.
