No, No noises, AM doesn't come in but that's probably an antenna issue I haven't fixed yet

I really didn't want to try the ATOTO S8 Premium android unit for $350 vs the Kenwood for $850, but he's insisted it won't sound as good and the cheap units are so glitchy. Though I have ready a lot of reviews on the Kenwood that wireless Android auto disconnects a lot. There's a cheaper Kenwood DMX706S ($550) that's not android/car play wireless and can't do HD radio stations. Neither of those things are a big deal to me, but it also doesn't have a GPS for offline navigation.
I thought CAI didn't have any head units in stock??

I have the same problem as you (electrical noise) but only when my head unit is turned off. If it is powered on the sound goes away, even with the volume all the way down. I always have the radio on, so it doesn't bother me much but I'd still like to fix it.

it's so weird, if the unit is on but the volume is zero, i don't hear it... once the volume is turned up i can hear a slight electrical noise... it's worse when the music is low volume but not loud enough to drown out the whine... i have to try next time with it off... i wonder if it's my aftermarket amps, but i haven't had time to take everything apart and start isolating... i bought a few filters as well to try...

If it makes any difference my Alpine unit is wired into the Bose sound system but I'm using different amp than stock.

They don't no, I ended up getting one off Ebay. There are still some models available on Crutchfield though.
