Not sure how submerging a line that has a rupture and needs 60 psi to operate injectors makes it hold that pressure. Please explain how this could possibly happen?

Must depend on the size of the split? The first time mine split it would start and you could run it up to about 15mph. The split was tiny, like 1/4" long and the tank was full. The second time was because the auto parts store sold me regular fuel line instead of submersible (they charged for submersible and that's what the invoice showed as well). This hose split about 3" long and the car would do nothing except crank. It took about 4 days for the wrong non-submersible hose to fail.

As theprf wrote it depends on the size of the split.

Over the past decade we have seen several cars with this failure in this section. As a rough estimate I would say ~90% would run with a full tank. Some would barely run but they would run.

So I would look for a rupture in this particular fuel line if I were having an issue like this. A simple fuel pressure check would point you in the right direction, and it is a common issue.

Hi, I took out the fuel pump today and no splits in the black hoses. I’m going to test fuel pump out of the car. As said, in one of my previous posts, you could hear the pump priming. I will check the power to the pump from the car to make sure I’m getting 12v. Thanks to all who have given input so far. Hopefully, I will get to the bottom of this soon. Cheers

Hi, thanks for you input. I have taken the pump out now and there doesn’t appear to be any splits. I am going to test it outside the car and test the feed to the pump with my multimeter. See pics of pump.

Hi, car was full to the top. I have now siphoned the fuel tank and removed the pump. No sign of visible splits in hose. I’m going to test the pump outside the car. Also, I’m going to check the volts to the pump. Thanks for your input. Ch

Yes, that looks fine. Check the other flex lines that are still in the tank, the ones that go to the jet pumps in the two side chambers. If one of those is ruptured or not plugged in it will loose a lot of pressure.
When you're cranking the engine with the starter does the tachometer jump around a little? You might have a dead crank position sensor if it does not. You can easily check this with any OBD2 scanner. I have an OBD Link LX which uses bluetooth to my phone. Plug in the scanner and set it to show RPM. Then use the starter to crank the engine and the RPM should show 100-150 RPM. If it stays at 0 the crank position sensor is dead.

As theprf wrote, check the Venturi lift pumps, the two downward reaching lines that pull fuel up to the pump from either side of tank. But I have to concede the symptoms you are experiencing do not match bad lift pumps.

Theprf may also be right in that your have a bad sensor somewhere.

Fuel pressure is easy to measure in these cars. Thats the only reliable way to check the functioning of the entire system.

Hi, thanks for your input. The rpm needle jumps whilst cranking so, unlikely to be the crankshaft sensor. I hooked up a battery to the pump and it made a whirring noise but didn’t pump any fuel and then stopped working. So, I’m unsure whether, I have broken it or the pump was the culprit. I’m was thinking to get a Radium petrol pump adapter and a Walbro F90000274 E85 pump. I notice on AliExpress the do a pump similar to the Walbro F900000274 for quite a lot less cost wise. Does anyone have any experience with this? I will check the fuel lines in the tank as you recommend. Any input on replacement fuel pump will be appreciated.

Hi, all. Thanks for your input. I have solved the problem. The fuel pump was the issue! I bought a Radium engineering fuel pump adapter and walbro pump and fitted it yesterday and the car started straight away. Prior to this, I never had any starting problems with the car. So, I’m very happy now. I’m wanting to increase power from 420bhp to 600bhp. Any advice on how to do this would be welcome. Cheers

billet turbos, injectors, exhaust and tune should get you there.
