Hey ya'll. Just thought I would continue updating this thread...

Got the new suspension installed - Meyle for all of the consumable bits - was quite impressed with the quality.

The Feal coilovers were really simple to install. A couple notes. They're adjusted out of the box pretty close to factory ride height. It's easy to adjust after install, so I would install them, see where the car is, and then adjust from there. Extremely pleased with the control. I left them in the middle (15 of 30 clicks).

On the track, I felt that 15 was probably a *touch* soft. Not much, but a touch. On the street, I'm probably going to back them down. I'm good with Cadillac ride quality at the expense of some razor sharpness.

These and the new bushings *drastically* improved the way the car feels. Night and day difference.

The car completed about 250 miles on the track without incident, aside from a slight tuning issue Markski and I are working on. It was easy to drive around... and it was fun to learn how a TON of HP feels on a road course. A heck of a lot different than the 200hp cars I'm used to driving with their 50/50 weight bias.

Congratulations on your successful build, and thanks for posting all that information. I just read the entire post tonight. You're a heck of a mechanic, and have a lot of guts to jump into such a project. I've done a lot of work over the years on cars, but the Turbo is pretty intimidating to me. Not sure I'll ever take on such a project. Hope it gives you years of enjoyment.

@17ram2500 You happen to have a list of all the Meyle suspension consumable bits?

And I go the AC charged tonight... finally... which was a big goal of this, since the trip home revealed "marginal" AC performance. I was getting 36*F out of the center stack tonight. That should suffice.

Two weekends ago I did an HPDE weekend; and that went really well with 250 miles on the track and no hiccups. So.... The car is reliable, powerful, handles well (no GT3, but that's OK with me), comfortable and just an absolute ball to drive.

It's going to be a fun toy for many years to come.

So... hard to believe, but it's been exactly one year since this project got back on the road, and I drove it last Christmas Day as a present to myself.

I'm a bit under the weather this year, but still took Jinxy (as she's now been named) out for a spin today. Currently sitting at 59,795 miles, almost due for an oil change, and the last year has just been terrific.

Memorial Day was a trip to Key West (trailed to Ocala, drove the rest of the way). There've been a few trips to the mountains of NC, a track day, several car meets - some Porsche, others not, and a few trips to the beach. I drive it a lot around town. Can't help buy smile when I'm behind the wheel.

It's a a car that begs to be driven hard, and yet is remarkably compliant for what it is. Thanks to everyone who helped me in this build, I *REALLY* enjoy this car a ton. Looking forward to many years together.

Merry Christmas to everyone!!

Merry Christmas and best wishes for 2024.
3 years now since my at home engine out adventure. Apart from a vacuum hose that came loose behind the alternator, leaking PS reservoir I repaired with RTV sealant, and some suspension fiddling the car has been great.
Yes they do like to driven hard.
