Although changing bulbs makes a big difference the real problem is not the bulbs, It's the reflective material in the casing behind the bulbs that flakes off or turns opaque after so many years. The kit fixes that.

I think our cars with litronics might be require more elbow grease. Seems like u have to remove the adjustment assembly as well and not just the projector bowl.

Definitely interested doing this during the winter. Please report back how was the install.

It seems like they also make a Bi-Led conversion kit:

So far a couple of people from the 996 forum have installed the kit and they say that the difference is dramatic. Double the light output at least with the updated kit is what one said. Im still waiting to receive the kit I ordered. Should be some time soon. Il'l be putting these in my 996 Carrera as well as my 996 turbo.

Perfect timing as my stock units are now beginning to fail. In recent weeks they sometime require several attempts to 'fire up" in the colder weather. Not surprised given they are now 20 years old and the output has been weak even compared to my 2013 VW Golf R.
This could be the perfect excuse for an upgrade..subscribed !!

Has the headlight switch ever been replaced?

Your issue wouldn't be fixed with the basic kit here, as it's the projector only from my understanding. You would need to go for their upgrade kit... make sure you reach out to them so they can point you in the right direction with the wiring etc

I see they have few different options available. Likely a good time to replace the bulbs as well

I read that it would work for all turbos in one place, and that it's for the 2002's and up on the site. Will it work on a 2001 turbo?
