My mechanic has located multiple parts available here in the Denver area.

A question for those who have unplugged and plugged in the ABS unit, do you have a DIY? I know I might sound like a complete moron (and quite possibly I am), but where is the plug located. I think I know where the ABS unit is, but not positive.

Thanks much for all of your suggestions (sorry for hijacking the OP's thread too).

Wross the ABS unit is under the black plastic cover just beside the fuel tank access in the front trunk.... The plug is on the unit (arrow) and this plug got a lever...

There is a handle just under the wiring that goes into the plug. Pull the handle out towards the passenger side of the car and the plug releases from the ABS unit.
The pressure sensor is on the back side of the ABS unit, in the top driver's side corner. It's got a 3-pin plug. Push the release button and pull the plug aft, to the back of the car.

Just a correction, the handle is on the top and it releases up and towards the driver side (to the right looking at the unit from the front). Easy enough though. Finding the release button was a bit of a challenge, but there is a flat side towards the passenger side where the release "button" is located (as described by theprf, thanks)

That looks absolutely brand new - no oxidization on the pump whatsoever - what is your secret?

I really don't know....The car is close to 100.000 kilometers 62,000 miles, always store in a garage and never winter driven.... I cannot compare with of others because I never saw another 996 turbo ABS....

Can anyone point me to threads showing what to check electronically. Psm/abs light comes on after a short drive and stays on until ignition off. When the car is restarted the lights are off but will come back on in another short drive. Don’t mean to hijack this thread. Just trying to find where the answers are! Thanks. Jeff

You need to get the codes from the ABS to do any kind of troubleshooting.
