oil over filled ! Help
I brought my car in for an oil change and the tech forgot to drain the scavage pump ,the engine was over filled by about 2 to 3 quarts. After driving for about 3 miles the car started smoking severly .I imediately shut down the engine. After returning to the garage the oil was drained oil filter was changed the the filter housing and air induction was taken apart and cleaned .oil had got to the air filter and into the induction pipes. The car seems fine now.Total miles driven was about 3 or about 15 minutes.Should I be concerned about any permanent damage?Any technical imput would be appreciated.

Make sure that the MAF isn't coated in oil. You might want to spray it with brake clean. You also might want to make sure this was the problem. There are a few known issues with the oil separator.

How does it run now? Has the smoke cleared up? Probably no harm done. It's just embarrassing.
This has happened to many of us, though its a bit too late for the breather to freeze up, and too early for "mosquito" control.
I don't recall anyone having permenant damage from this.

Not to worry, this is normal. Having a few minor oil drips is also normal.
Only if the smoke lasts for more than a minute or two should you be concerned. With turbo cars, smoke lasting a few minutes is usually a sign of the turbo seals failing.
