Default Body Shops SUCK!!

Had a free day today with no plans so I figured instead of waiting for my body shop I would fix my front bumper. The problem was they forgot to put a couple pieces back in which made the bumper hang low and have a huge gap between the fenders and bumper. Having never taken off a bumper or seeing it done, I figured it would be involving, but it actually only took me an hour (taking my time finding all the screws).
The part about body shop's sucking, is the fact that I found like 5-10 screws missing that hold the bumper in place which I now have to go and buy before I can finish the install... Also the ducts to the radiatiors were improperly put in and there was a gap that the air was escaping through....
O well, I am taking a break and got bored so here are some pics of what I hope to never see my car looking like parked on the street

PS-That is a ferrari car cover under my bumper...hey at least Ferrari is good for somthing

Yes, the radiators are extremely vulnerable, just ask any pro racing team that runs a 996 model.

I wouldn't pay that body shop in full since they screwed up the reassembly.

Terrible news about the body shop...obviously next time look for one that has a few Porsches parked around (with all their screws of course).

Great pics tho~!!! Kind of like watching surgery on the Discovery Channel...kind of hard to watch but interesting as hell.

Hope everything goes well on your re-reinstall.

It is very often that I see all body shops leave out some screws and fasteners. Once something is taken apart it is rare to see it go back together the same. Even the best shops are guilty of this.

Exactly what I ment.... I have used a few different shops and have yet to find one that has done everything the "right" way...
This shop does great paint and is very cheap, however I guess their flaw is install... My other shop does OK paint, is more expensive, but does great install....I wish there were just one that did both....

Hehe, yea actually when I jacked the car up today and got under it to remove the bumper I found that I ripped off one of the covers down there O well I will order another....

PS-I have just now at 10:30 finished the install Nothing fit right and because I have mesh on the openings, so getting the radiator ducts to fit around the opening was impossable...I had to just keep playing with it untill they slid on (3 hours later ).

I agree however went to use my jackstands (first time since lowering the car) and I couldn't get them to work as they were too tall (11"). I have to buy some lower ones, but didn't feel like running out

Well after all this work getting my bumper great...its back to the body shop . Driving to work today a nice metal plate decided to introduce itself to my radiators. Luckly I had the mesh there or the plate probably would have gone straight into the radiator....

O well...as my sig says the car is "under construction" and was going to be in the bodyshop for the next couple weeks, so I guess thats just another thing to have done

Thank you very much....I can't show how the car is looking right now as it is a bit of a surprise for Rennsport, but here is a preview
