Dealer fills oil??
Hi Guys,
I have to say I am very impressed. I took my car to Champion Porsche to have my seat belt sensor changed as it kept throwing airbag lights and when I left the little onboard computer screen was on. I figured what the hell and check the oil...it was full... I know it was low when I dropped it off (2 or 3 bars) yet when I picked it up it was 1 bar under the top line... Do dealers always top off the oil when low?? I am just surprised because the service had nothing to do with the engine and I am surprised they would even check the oil... I also got a call from PCNA 3 days after my service asking how it was and gave me a survey!! Have to say I was very impressed with the service!! As overpriced as Champion is their service sure is top notch..
Just curious if anyone has had the same experience...

The fact that AMG ETR knew where his oil level was means that he
is doing OK. As long as the car's oil level is above the minimum, and
it's good clean oil, there is no problem with running it a few notches
above the bottom. I don't even like to see the oil level max'ed out.
I do monitor the level every day I drive it, and I tend to keep it at
mid-level +-1 notch.

Wow guys, I guess I have been getting under-par service at the other shops because they didn't fill my oil (ever).
Doc:Who doesn't take pride in their car??. Trust me I am fanatical about the oil, I check it almost every morning. I was going to fill the oil when I got back to work from Champion, I just didn't have time to do it before I dropped it off.

joe-i think evan's point is that it was 2 or 3 bars below the minimum mark, not above. no evan-i am certainly not accusing you of not taking care of your car-i am just saying that for as fanatical as you are, i am surprised that you would ever let your oil get in the "less than minimum" zone.

Ok. I may be wrong, but I don't believe it. The dash would
light up if the oil level got actually dangerous, ie: less than
minimum...
Evan, you weren't running below minimum. Tell me you weren't
running below minimum. I understand you to have meant you were
2 or 3 notches below max.

Doc:I don't really understand what you mean?? There are not 2 to 3 bars under the min. mark there is only 1 on mine?? My oil was like 2 bars over the min. mark...there ya go hope that clears it up. Champion filled it up to the bar under max....
PS-Joe, I promise it has never been under that mark
