My new to me 996TT/GT2 conversions Front Shocks are toast. Front end bounces like a pogo stick.

Moton doesn't carry them anymore and don't supply parts to the rebuilders -- so I'm looking for a used but good set -- or comparable adjustable front shocks.

Aren't there folks down south that will rebuild them, or is it the lack or proprietary parts that is the problem?

Ohlin's seems to have produced a fix for their already admirable product - if you have to go elsewhere.

 

How proprietary could they possibly be? You need new valve shims, seals, and fresh oil. How hard is that?

 

Meaning if Moton produced their own valves, shims, seals to their specifications... could be tricky.
