The 996 Turbo is one of the most popular enthusiast and tuner vehicles of its time. With the ability to reach double its stock horsepower and over 200mph on the stock engine, speed junkies are all over the 996 Turbo. The K16 turbos found in the standard Porsche 996 Turbo have huge potential and the performance gain by just doing a Stage 1 ECU flash cannot be rivaled by any other modification. The car comes factory making only .6 - .7bar of boost. Once flashed, the car will make a consistent 1.0bar of boost gaining you about 80HP and 90ft/lbs of torque. With an aftermarket exhaust system, you may see boost spikes to 1.2bar which is completely safe. The 996 Turbo engines in good health can run 1.5-1.6bar on 100octane. With the increased boost and horsepower, we highly recommend changing your spark plugs to a 1 step colder plugs such as the Denso IK22 or the NGK BKR7EIX. Stock plugs with over 5000 miles will typically cause the car to misfire at peak torque around 4000rpm.

I am not sure if you are aware of this, but, it would appear that tuning the above noted Porsche with VR software, has in fact, turned said Porsche into a Honda, as noted by picture # 3.
