Default 964 RS Motor mount question

I bought the kit from Rennpart and specified these were going onto a 996, that way they come with longer bolts. I measured them before I put them in and they were just over 5" long.

Install went fine, but this is all the excess bolt thread I have showing, maybe 1/2" or so. This doesn't let me drop the motor much to get access in the engine bay, unless I'm missing something?
Is this normal?

Yes, seems normal, just double check the square insert at the bottom of the mount is fully recessed into the engine crossmember. If it is you are all good.

Doesn't the big, concave washer that sits on the bottom of the mount cover all that up? I don't recall seeing a square insert that would sit into the crossmember...

there is an obvious rectangle in the engine cradle that the top of the mount bolt has to sit flush into

If I recall, the 964 RS mounts don't have any square. It's just a long bolt going straight through the mount.

Thanks for freaking me out guys! I was wracking my brain about this because I sure as hell didn't see any square on those 964 mounts...

Are the RS mount bolts a larger diameter than the OEM mount bolts? It is odd to me that the 964 RS mounts do not have the square set piece. Those square bulges keeps the mount bolts centered in the engine crossmember, locking everything together. Without it I would think there might be movement of the round bolt within the square frame. But if that is how it is then that is how it is.

There is no square on the RS mounts. It's not needed. You can get a longer 10.9 bolt to give you more room to drop the engine. The correct stack is:

Bolt
Thick hardened steel washer
Large gold concave washer
RS engine mount,
Large gold concave washer
Thick hardened steel washer
Engine carrier
Nut

Thanks John, that's how I have mine setup. The bolt I have now is `130mm long. Anyone know the size/pitch of the bolt and I'll see if I can find one that's more like 150mm long?

If I recall it’s M12x1.5
