one less turbo S

let the ins co tell you what they want to offer ( they will be quick ) and then make sure you are compensated for whatever premium that S designation still carries.
i don't know that this will be possible but in my case they made their payout offer ( was about 45K iirc ) and then i was able to get them to add $5k for the X50 "option" which they conveniently managed to overlook in their "first" offer. this of course if the claim is paid by YOUR ins co. which it probably will. then they'll recoup from the one at fault.

Rollover bars popped due to force of the impact. The car may have jumped when you were hit on the side. They can be put back down. The rear bumperettes look normal. The bottoms seem to stick out a little.
This is 100% a total loss. The front tub, suspension all needs replacement. But the car is way out of wack. Needs to be put on a Celette bench and squared up.

oh I agree its a total loss, the car looks twisted or should say tweaked bad.
Since it missed the impact bumper in the front the main tub took the full force of the impact.
I didn't notice the roll over bars went off till that night when I got home and was looking at it more.
the bumperettes were correct before the accident I noticed that also later they are still tight too but they have moved.

Sorry to hear you lost the car, and I'm happy that you are not hurt. I was almost crunched about two weeks ago by an F250 trying to move to his right (that truck has a huge blind spot down low on the passenger side) into my lane while we were stopped at a red light.
This is a wake up call for all of us, our fellow drivers are stressed and distracted. They are doing very stupid and dangerous things with their vehicles, more so than in "normal" times...

I’m not legal expert, but have been through a couple not-at-fault accidents. There’s a few things I learned along the way. I don’t know state-by-state variances but many of these things are universal.
First thing, avoid talking on the internet or social media about the accident, your injuries, etc. That stuff will come up if this goes to court and might even if it doesn’t. A simple statement like “feeling fine after my accident” on FB can cause you more headache that you want to deal with.
You (or your insurance on your behalf) will need to file a claim against the other drivers insurance policy for damage to your vehicle. You will file a claim with your insurance for Personal Injury Protection. At least, that’s Oregon’s laws; I know some states vary. Keep your insurance on the know about what you’re telling the other insurance. This is the step where things can get sideways, an “absolutely other personal at fault” incident will become vague. Witness statements and police reports will help.
Contrary to my expectation, my lawyer strongly advised NOT releasing dash cam footage unless absolutely necessary. Talk to your attorney before releasing any footage. Get it edited to only the absolute minimum showing the event and relevant at-fault information. Audio recordings can be a legal issue, so exercise caution there.
Get a binder and record how you feel each day. Record how you sleep, any pain, or new symptoms. Methodically record any time spent off of work and all expenses accrued. You can typically settle for lost time, but it must be validated and often has a minimum duration. Each time, I had to submit paid time off from pay stubs with evidence of time being taken for the accident (and not vacation).
Both insurance adjusters will want a statement. More often than not, many people will want a statement or explanation of what happened & how you feel. Do yourself a favor and write something out. Read it or summarize from bullets. Do not add or remove anything from your statement about the accident. It’s natural to forget (and also remember) aspects of the accident with time.
My states laws require a vehicle valuation based upon similar vehicles for sale (eg cost to go and buy a replacement car). Start finding examples now. Bring a trailer has several 996TT recently. Mileage can be a big adjustment down, so look for higher mileage examples.
Lawyers can be helpful if you’re stuck. In Oregon, mine would not help with valuation of the vehicle but would help with medical and injury stuff.
Really sorry for the loss. The next steps with insurance will be painful. Sorry.

Thank you Enzo,
To me what was important is that everyone was able to walk away from this, the cars can be replaced.
there are other things I am not saying for that very reason and major details this way I am protecting myself.
This will have some twist to it after things get settled.
oh I am keeping track of how I am and have been feeling.
letting people know she was cited is cause the police even told me that plus she even admitted she was at fault.
this will all be in the police report anyways.
I already talk with my insurance that morning now just waiting on hers. Enough said on that.
well as I have been looking for cars like what mine is is also the challenge as so few S model cabs come up for sale, so mileage is not a factor in this now.
Wish I had a dash cam now, but I think this intersection has cameras already. As the police were there with in minutes maybe just lucky one was close not sure.

Well looking around last night I found 2 S cabs for sale, one on the left coast and other about 600 miles away.
The west coast car close on milage within 10k miles of what mine has listed price $49k + Black on black
The other closer car is mine cars twin just different interior color but lower miles. asking $59k+ gt silver met. black interior
both tip cars too, yes I like the tip trans.
One is private seller other is dealer.
