it's amazing how robust the oem clutch is when you only use it to shift gears, aided even more with an unsprung 996 gt2 disc. my last clutch was good for 90k miles on a 1.2 tuned 16/24 setup. it must be all that unnecessary double clutching i practice, out of habit. old habits and sachs clutches die hard.

it never slipped once. i only replaced it because my trans needed bearings. the rms r&r was *optional* lol. 40$ o-ring that it is.

Just replaced my stock clutch on a 997TT also did the RMS that wasn't leaking.
BIG mistake! the new one leak! I didn't have the correct insertion tool.
Bought the factory tool replaced the rear main seal again that one also leaked
Then stopped after 500 miles WTF!
Both seals were from Porsche

Not to jinx myself but the new RMS sealed up just fine. 1000 miles and loving the clutch.

Glad things worked out,the 2nd RMS inserted with the factory tool leaked for ~500 miles and then stopped.
The wear on the outer edge of the disc and PP/FW is feature according to Sachs not a defect it will be normal after broken in.
This was in my video above when i went back in the replace the RMS.

I replaced my RMS "while I was in there" for an engine drop for coolant lines welded, clutch replaced, GT2 conversion, etc... and my RMS started leaking within 100 miles of the repair! The shop had to pull the transmission again to replace the RMS a second time. The shop, a Porsche specialty shop, said "it happens." While in the end, I have a new RMS, I wish I did not touch it.

Did the rockauto DMF153 from Luk work good ? This is about the only thread i've been able to find saying it works. I'm ordering everything to do the clutch in my 03' turbo and your parts list has been very helpful

i replaced my rms every and any chance i got. twice now. no issues and sure, no one wants a leaking seal. my conjecture is that any issues with replacing an o ring is the fault of the installation/installer. not the part itself.

heard good stuff about using the Luk parts. meaning oem equivalency.

The flywheel has worked great so far but I only have 2000 mi on it. All the clutch parts have been great and I am very happy with its operation. If anyone was to drive it they would think the clutch was factory as the effort is just like factory. I do have some increased mechanical noise but that could be due to the window weld mod I did to the trans mount at the same time, either way it is not a big deal. Your welcome for the part list, I didn't see a complete one anywhere and I thought if it helped one other person it was worth the time to post it. I can't take all the credit because I got some recommendations and found some part numbers in other posts but I could not find the entire "recipe" in one place.
