Wow, that sucks - it was a great thread about people and their Porsche's.

 

no one really "owns" anything, and least of all some words on an internet brands website. so, you'll begin another.

 

i don't understand how a thread got deleted? did something happen?

 

It was a thread, 'of the people' ...

The people are not amused.

 

Nothing here is owned by "the people". This place is a for profit venture. If you read the terms of service you find "we the people" are not the owners, or even the customers, of what goes on here. We are the product being sold.

I am a co-founder and administrator of a motorsports forum hosted on another non-Rennlist affiliated platform. Once you see these ventures from the other side the justification for everything becomes crystal clear.

to illustrate a bit further. i "requested" that my former user name here be deleted along with the content. they deleted the user name and that default is "banned" but would not delete content. which they "own". so now i have to cringe at times when i see some of the drivel i posted years ago. i was an angrier youth lol

 

I did actually say the thread was 'of the people', so in theory, if there are no people, there is no thread...

It is not even clear to me what the offensive part of the thread was - I thought it was a pretty good thread... not so angry, but more happy, Porsche driving happy...

 

it may have veered into some politically motivated diatribe? if i contributed at all to it, it probably did.

 

But why move the entire thread? If anything, removing posts the moderators consider unnecessary would seem to be a better way to go.

Maybe they didn't think the thread was technical enough (?)...that it didn't rise to the technical level represented by the "996 Turbo picture" thread.
