Lol just having a laugh with you guys. I tried the square plate nuts from local parts store. They are too big. I ordered the oem kit for my 2003 ( part number PEL-996-Bracket) 53 bucks. It comes with a nice backing plate rather than just the raw plate up there. Im sure Ill be much faster now. I had considered the chewing gum btw, but concluded that it may sag in the summer heat and prevent my front spoiler from hitting the driveway properly. Rivets..that was good! Solid engineering idea there!

So do I.

Fortunately I live in a state that does not require a front license plate.

I prefer the no front license plate too. Currently running my 2000 C4 Cab (which did not have one when I bought it) that way, even though it's a VC violation in my state. Ran a Dodge Ram SRT10 for 3 years that way w/o any problems.

Don't think I'll have any problems w/the 911 either, since I'm a retired LEO. If they won't give me a speeding ticket, why would they give me a "fix it" ticket?

Front plates are against my religion.

I haven't tried the argument in court yet, as I've never had any trouble in CA without one, on any of my cars over the years.

Even when receiving moving violations, it was never mentioned.

We have been getting a bunch of folks locally getting Vehicle Inspections on this, but I am a fan of the clean look...

I agree, no front plate. I've lived in a number of states that "require" them and have never once been given a hard time about it. If anything, just stick it in your trunk mounted to the frame and if anyone says anything, tell them it fell off and you've been meaning to fix it.

I’ve been lucky on this because Ohio has front plates but never ran them on either 996, just a cleaner look as other have said.
only good thing is Ohio is dropping the front plates in June this year the people voted to get rid of them and save the money for not getting two plates. So no more worries then

They are purportedly doing the same thing here.

As our Province is run by Socialists, we await to see how much it will cost us.

I like the no plate too. But there were holes. So hopefully the OEM kit looks nice on. Ill post when I get it in the mail.
