I'm often confused when folks say they will address it when a clutch is replaced.... Usually you just drop the transmission to replace a clutch, and the time required to r&r the transmission is far less than pulling the engine along with it...

I would be doing the work for either and figure it's not that much more work to just pull the motor as well. My thought is to do both while its taking up space on my lift. Plus this is my way of being proactive at fixing the coolant lines. Lol

if you drop the engine and transmission to change weld or pin the pipes it is a small job to change out clutch (and a few other things while you are at it...)at that time. So people say do it when clutch is near end. As stated previously in this thread it is funny how some shops are making huge money doing this service-8 hours max x2 to re/re engine then a couple hours to change out coolant hoses remove and clean up fittings and jb weld and pin them.
